| Subject: | Would like to start the McDougall plan |

I am a 50 year old diabetic, on low carb at the moment and very unhappy. I keep listening to various authors and medical "experts" who claim low carb is the way to control diabetes by losing weight and keeping the sugar levels lower.
Well, I can't seem to lose weight on low carb diet. I stick to it stringently and can't lose. I want to heal my body, lose weight and hopefully go off insulin.
I have read and tried higher carb healthy lifestyles and my blood sugar goes sky high. With any pasta and/or potato, I feel awful.
Is there a way to start McDougall's plan that I will keep full and not hungry all the time and concentrate on the vegetable portion and maybe ease into starchy stuffs later? Or, will simply the fact that I am off animal fat, let me eat the potatoes and starchy items? I really am getting tired of meat. Didn't think that was possible but it is. I'm ready to heal.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Debbie
