There are additional programs that promote vegan/vegetarian diet as a most healthful way to control diabetes, speaking of type2, "adult-onset" diabetes.

I tend to call it 'pudgy' diabetes, since few of us get this diagnosis with out at least being in the overweight column, if not further.

Here is one: The Weimar Institute in California

They have a live-in program that you can attend to learn and reinforce these healthful habits. I believe this group is associated with the faith I call Seventh Day Adventists.

I have not attended, so I cannot vouch for it one way or another. Check it out for yourself. BTW, I believe it's prounced 'wee-mar'.
