I've been a fan of Dr. McDougall's nutritional program for many years. When I follow his guidelines faithfully (without portion control!) my BG numbers behave very politely. It's astounding. Here's a link to his free program summary as on his website. He has several books and DVDs which are also available that you can reach from links there. There is also a McDougall Wellness Board here at VegSource that is full of helpful folks. I've been hanging out there since the beginning of VegSource (anybody else remember Veggies Unite?) and they can answer many questions. Dr. McDougall himself often lurks at the board and will answer questions or post from time to time. What a great guy! You may find his books at your local library also. This is an excellent way to start eating like a vegan to control your diabetes, IMHO. Raine
