There are some discussions of what you can eat in the New Testament but these pertain to
whether Christians had to follow Jewish dietary laws or could eat meat offered to idols. They
presuppose that it is otherwise ok to eat meat, but then, they also presuppose that slavery is
ok. In other words, this kind of presuppositin is not considered divinely inspired, either as it
applies to slavery or to meat-eating.

Before the fall, human beings (and it would seem all beings) eat a vegan diet. (In Genesis.)
This seems to imply that this is the ideal, God's original intention. In the Kingdom, according
to the Scriptures, "the lion will lie down with the lamb." Again, this seems to imply that some
form of vegetarianism represents God's plan.

There are some Christian vegetarian sites that address these matters (some better than
others) as well as a number of books.
