Hello. I have for the past two months been doing quite a bit of lurking all around this site, but for the last few days, I've actually been doing some talking. I am a Christian (Protestant,) although my belief structure falls some where in the Christian, Jewish, Islam area with many of the philosophies of Buddhism and Taoism. I realize that this may seem a bit jumbled, but to me it is not.
It is easy to be confused with so many religons proclaiming themselves to be the only truth, and so I asked HIM for guidance, and that is how I got where I am. That also may or may not be why I am asking this, perhaps it is only out of my own curiosity, but until I ask, I cannot say with any certainty. So here goes:
As you may have guessed, I am familiar with many religons, but have little background in Catholicism, as I know very few Catholics, all of whom are "non-practicing". I understand that it is DIFFERENT from Protestantism, but am not exactly sure how. As I am very familiar with Protestantism (having been raised a Presbyterian/Lutheran and still being one), I feel I know at the very least some of the basics of Catholicism, but am not entirely sure of that either. So, if anyone would be kind enough to help fill me in, your input would be greatly appreciated.
