I remember hearing some guy bragged when he was near death that he lived a bad life but would get to heaven because he was wearing the scapular and rthen the scapular burned up right while he was wearing it. Of course, it's probably just a story, but that's not the point. It's good to wear the scapular as a sign of devotion. It's not good to see it as some sort of guarantee.
