This explains how it's been easy keeping my weight steady for 24 yrs. I eat plenty of legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds, and high protein vegetables. They're all high in protein. I haven't gained any weight over that period, unless I wanted to, which I recently did. The cystic fibrosis clinic doctors and nutritionist said I'd be healthier at a BMI over 23, instead of my former 21.5. So guess how I put the weight on. Yup, donuts, cake, pies, ice cream, chips, and candy. It works, if you need to gain weight. I still don't see how that could possibly make me healthier with the mild case of CF that I have, but they said it would. I'm now back to my regular diet, so I won't be gaining any more weight.
