Hi forum folks. I have a question:

An acquaintance told me that her daughter is 22 and has never menstruated. A doctor diagnosed her daughter as having abnormally low estrogen levels and told the daughter that her condition puts her at risk for cancer and osteoporosis. The daughter was advised to begin taking birth control pills and/or estrogen.

I know that The China Study reports research linking abnormally high estrogen to cancer, and lower estrogen to lower incidence of cancer. But what about abnormally low estrogen levels? Are there any studies that anyone knows about that link abnormally low estrogen levels to cancer and osteoporosis? My feeling is that the daughter's doctor is wrong.

Can anyone help?
