Sounds reasonable.

For cardio disease, Dr Esselstyn's restriction on fats makes sense too, because all fats include saturated which gives trouble.

For diabetics, starch can be a problem, so beans and greens provide a better base.

McDougall and Fuhrman disagree more strongly about the inclusion of starches.
