Fascinating. I've not looked into any but these two (Buddhism and Christianity). It's a shame that Christianity abandoned these traditions in favor of (seemingly) church-edited and/or outright fabricated teachings. It seems as though the Christian Bible was gutted of anything that ran contrary to the desired effects to recruit and control the flock. Some other stuff seems to have been added to attempt to fill in the holes, leaving it full of contradictions. This mess is then sold to the masses with the warning: believe it our way or suffer eternal damnation. The whole premise goes against the grain of my sensibilities. Okay, I'll get off my soap-box. I don't know a lot about the nuts and bolts of Buddhism, but I haven't really approached it so much with the idea of adopting it as a religion as learning from it's teachings and practices. One tenet that sticks in my mind is the idea of keeping what makes sense and throw away what doesn't. Anyway, it's good to know you, Keith. Sorry if I've bored you or gotten too off topic. If I'm wrong, let me know. I have more to learn all the time. I think it will take me several more lifetimes to learn everything I want to know. Does anybody but you and ridgerunner read the board these days? Bill
