Subject: Buddhism 101?

Good morning,

Someone told me just today that there are several different "types" of Buddhism - she mentioned Zen and Tibetan, and indicated there are many others.

Where can I learn more about this?

(If a little background would help, there are two reasons I am asking. I just happen to be a Christian who has a huge fascination and genuine love of different religious and philosophical traditions. I don't know a lot about Buddhism, I try to learn bits and pieces any time I can, as I do with other traditions. Also, I have two new friends who are Buddhists, and I would like to be able to understand and relate to them a little better!)
