Thats one of the main reasons I am looking elsewhere. It seems kinda strange to have at functions wine and a total meat and dairy based foods where vegan options don't exist, besides the carrot sticks, lol! Its not that I think people have to be veg or alcohol free, but I do think it should accomodate those of us comfortably who want to take it seriously of no intoxicants and not doing harm to sentient beings. The no intoxicants is even specified as part of being Buddhist! This center is open to all, not just Buddhist, but I do think it should emphasize the Buddhist beliefs. But I am enjoying looking and exploring different traditions! Haven't felt uncomfortable in any I've tried so far, but I'm looking to find the one that fits me best. This has been an exhausting week with breaking up with my bf, but I'm going to try 1-2 other places/week until I find the place.
