are very important in a relationship, I think so, too. My bf is much older than me but we do not have any problems with our mutual understanding. We do not share the same views in everything but we respect each other's choices and needs.
I get along, too, with other people, and I prefer to hear know both sides of the story. For instance, when people are being critized in the medias or by friends of mine I try to look at their (those critized) background and often you can understand what have led them to become or to do what their are critized of. And the critique is often based on ignorance and lack of compassion. Because, normally, you could not imagine yourself acting the same way but put in their shoes there is a chance that you would have behaved in the exact same way.

I wish you good luck with a future realationship :)

I will have more time for studying Buddhism in a couple of weeks, so I guess that more questions will appear then, and I will let you know about the books that I read.
