Kristi,
I missed the announcement about Esther and did not see the post about the
miscarriage until now. I am very sorry for your loss. I do want to say though,
that the studies on vbac do not address the risk to a mother who has had a
cesarean when birth is "augmented" as is so often the case today. When you use
pit, for example, you greatly increase the potential for rupture. Perhaps we can
account for the increased risk by the increase in medicalization, in particular the
fact that inductions have become all the rage. Remember, that fear manifests its
own reality, as does faith. The mind-body connection is powerful and our bodies
were designed to give birth.
