When I had my son in October he was in NICU and a lactation consultant told me that in order to increase my milk supply I was to pump every 2 hours for 10 minutes only for 3 days. It worked and got things going in the right direction. On the other hand, with my 2 year old she stopped having BMs at 2 months - this went on for 13 days before we were admitted to the hospital - and it was due to severe dairy intolerance. She was getting only a little dairy through my breastmilk but it was enough to send her over the edge. Once I went to dairy and soy free it cleared up. It was hard for me as I am a big dairy eater but I had to do it. Eventually we had to put her on Nutramigen. You might want to chart how much dairy intake you have ???
