Hello Jennifer,
I have no pain or discomfort when I feed and my daughter was introduced to a pacifier at about 1 1/2 months of age. Though, she no longer is uses it.
I do have rapid let-downs which used to cause my daughter to choke, but it's getting better now. She now feeds through my rapid let downs. Her stools are yellows with some mucus at times, but not always. She hasn't yet vomited after feedings. She also used to have a stool "explosion" (as I would call it) every other day, but starting about 3 days ago, she has been having about 3 regular dirty diapers a day. My daughter weighed 6 lbs 10 ozs at birth and regained her birth weight within a few days. She was on a good start but then started slowing down. Today she turned 3 months and she is weighing about 10 1/2 pounds.
Feedings:
She started every 1 1/2 to 2 hours then 3 hour stretches and now back to every 2 hours. Actually starting about 5 days ago, she started not eating or sleeping much. After taking her to the doctors, she hasn't gained a single ounce in 6 days. The doctor prescribed zantac which has helped with her feedings as before she didn't want my breast or bottle. Just yesterday, she once again started taking my breast.
I'm mexican and pretty much eat mexican food. I was told by a lactation specalist that I was able to eat anything. Though, I don't eat much beans.
Please note - this is my second child. I breastfeed my 1st for about 8 mths and had no problems.
