I have been vegetarian for a few years now. I'm a guy and a regular blood donor. To my horror, I was turned down for blood donation two times in a row. This has never, ever, ever happened to me. I read that for guys it could be an iron deficiency, signs of possible internal bleeding or cancerous growths of some kind. I started taking iron supplements (30 min. before eating) with vitamin C to increase absorption. After urging from a friend, I actually broke down and ate a little meat for a day. I also noticed that a feel a little discomfort when I eat my normal portions. I feel like crap for having eaten meat again. Any thoughts?
