I am trying to make veggie Scotch Broth, but the flavor just isn't coming out right. Does anyone have a recipe or suggestion of spices to make mine taste closer to the real thing? I've used a recipe from the "Linda McCartney on Tour" cookbook which has veggie broth, barley, onion, leek, carrot, turnip, celery, cabbage, and peas--and, of course, salt & pepper. It tastes good, but rather than the Scotch Broth I was looking for, it tastes pretty much like any other veggie soup. I would prefer a suggestion without seitan as that does not seem to sit well with my digestion. Reply To This Post Return to Posts Index VegSource Home
