I recently (April '09) changed my eating to one more of a vegeterian (haven't quite given up cheese but all other dairy, yes). I'm 5'5, 120lbs, female, 44 years of age, and I work outdoors 8-10 hours per day, five-six days a week, as a landscaper. I've always had a ridiculously aggressive metabolism and have never had a weight issue. Since beginning this lifestyle change, I'm experiencing fatigue/lethargy during the day. Obviously, I'm not eating enough. I'm fairly confident I don't need to watch my caloric intake (since being on the 'diet' i've lost 8 unnecessary pounds). How can I improve my protein intake? The organic powders sold at the health food stores are priced ridiculously! My serving recommendations are, 2 cups of fruit and 3 cups of veggies per day. I blow that out of the water just in the evening with the size of the salad I make; I can eat a 240z bag of frozen stir fry veggies in one meal, by myself, easily with a cup to cup and a half of brown rice. I just don't feel vibrant and energetic...
