| Subject: | Vegetarian diet not working for me |
|

I've eaten little meat since January of this year and I tried
being a lacto-ovo vegetarian. My problem is that everytime I
try not eating meat at all, my health slowly declines. For the
first few weeks I feel normal but slowly I get unhealthier, I
get weak mentally and physically and get constant hunger.
What substance do you think I was missing on the diet?
I did a blood test and my iron and calcium levels were normal.
I think I was getting enough protein because my physical
weakness was just lack of energy, but my muscles didn't break
down.
Zinc, vitamin D, B12- ate dairy and eggs almost daily, and
also ate a lot of sunflower seeds that also have zinc.
calories - because of constant hunger I was eating more
calories than I eat now, now I eat less and feel better
BTW, my cholesterol level was found to be 210! Higher than
when I ate the typical omnivore diet 1 and a half years ago.
I also am 17.
So what do you think I was missing? Thanks.
