No, no I wasn't taking it as criticism! No worries! But some recipes just cannot be made into something they are not. However, looking at it a different way, it's entirely possible that you could cook down (condense) soymilk and agave nectar until it's thick like sweetened condensed milk, but that would take quite a while and would need to be watched carefully for scorching, and most people (me included) would not take the time to do that for the few times we might use it. I was devising a recipe that would be quick and almost as convenient as opening a can, and one that would taste very similar and act the same as the original when used in a recipe Oh, and you're right-- the Earth Balance is for "buttery" flavor, and a little richness.
