Yes, Ruth, it is talking about the measuring cup that comes with the machine (they do the same thing with rice cookers).

The new recipe I use is 2 of the little measuring cups (you get one with the machine) full of dried soybeans, which equals 1 scant regular measuring cup, or 6 oz., or about 165 g.

Soy is richer than rice, so, as you can se, using 2/3 cup soybeans and 1/3 cup rice (I assume these are regualr measures) would not taste as rich.
