I'm reading the book "Mad Cowboy". I've been a meat eater all my life- going on 4 decades, and the book is a real eye-opener. I'm a really picky eater but I want to find foods that are not animal derived. So I went to Whole Foods here near Raleigh, NC to get some food today. I realized how much I don't know. I was overwhelmed- for example more types of soy/rice/whatever milk than I can remember. I ended up getting salad and various other stuff from the warm bar- pretty far from my goal when I walked in. It would be easiest to do what I've always done, but I've made a decision to make a change. So... how do I do it? How does one change their diet when they are pretty picky and are used to eating meat? My thought was to just go with a shopping list, get a bunch of stuff, try it and make note of what I like. Eventually I'm sure there would be enough I'd like that I could have a complete, nutritionally complete diet. Any other advice on where/how to shop? Any links for the really newbie? Any books? Thanks all.
