Our real protein needs are around 25 grams a day. World Health Organization has it at that, I believe, and it's a conservative estimate. Even if you eat nothing but fruit, you will still get enough protein provided you consume enough calories for your activity level. We are a low protein species for sure. Just look at mothers milk, provides all the needed protein for the biggest stage of growth development that the human ever goes through, yet it is only 6% protein.. Fruit is on average about the same percentage protein as mothers milk!
