My husband and I adopted a vegetarian lifestyle in the 90's. But at the time, my meat-loving and bitchy mother lived with us as well as a troubled teen daughter. After working all day and coming home to fix 2 separate meals-veg and meat, I stopped and allowed meat again. Last nite I watched the Kentucky Fried Cruelty video while cooking my dinner. Thank God that we were having portabello mushroom stir fry for dinner! After sobbing for half an hour, I decided that this was the final straw. No more meat or dairy products. We had already changed to soy milk and are in the process of convincing our 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter that the chocolate soy milk does not taste "ca ca"! I can't seem to convince my daughter to go vegetarian. The old "I don't want to know" statement is all I heard. She said she'd consider cutting down on meat consumption, and I told her to watch the video, but she won't watch it. I asked my husband about the meat in our freezer now, he said we'll finish that but won't buy any more. So 2 questions actually: 1. Are we still bad for eating the meat in our freezer until it's gone? and 2. How do I convince my daughter that adopting a vegetarian lifestyle is better? The health thing won't work on her. (Very stubborn) And she won't watch or read info regarding the cruelty. Thanks for reading. Now I just have to find alternatives to the food for my 2 dogs and 6 cats!
