Lots of myths. Firstly, you don't need as much protein as you think. It's somewhere around 50 grams, which is easy easy to get even on a vegan diet with no soy. That said, soy is a great source of protein. Tofu, tempeh, etc. Easy to overdo, actually. So are any other kind of beans, especially if sometime during the day you also eat grains such as rice. Many grains are high in protein, such as quinoa. Your body will thank you for not overdoing protein. It is hard on kidneys and other organs, contributes to osteoporosis and you just don't need a ton of it.
