I really think the idea of a "soulmate" is largely an illusion, you are your own soulmate. That's first off, but another person can help you in life, add to your life, make it richer. I think as long as someone is fully supportive of what you do and believe you can make it work. My husband is very supportive although he is not vegan as I am. I have some issues with that but I have to remember what he gives to me in terms of companionship, support, in so many ways, he is as close to that word "soulmate" as a person could get, but I still recognize that he will never be everything I originally envisioned all those years when I was single. It really is a question you have to grapple with yourself, and come to terms with, and finally make a decision. Because my husband is so actively supportive of me I can deal with his not being vegan. I wish he was, but then, nothing is completely perfect. I can't imagine life without him and part of being vegan is being compassionate toward where others are in their development, as well. You can really only answer this question for yourself, but always remember there will always be things you must give up and illusions which must be dumped in order to be truly happy.
