I too was raised an omni, and raised my family that way. Now I have been a vegetarian for 8 years, but my family still eats meat. I am not completely vegan, but am always vegetarian and vegan most of the time. My family still doesn't understand my decision, but they have accepted it. They do not want to give up meat. Especially my husband. He only wants to eat meat all the time, and now he has heart trouble, too, but he still won't give up meat. There is nothing I can do for him. It is a personal decision. He knows it is bad for him, but would rather die than give up meat. Sadly, that is how some people think. The only thing I can do is take care of myself and hope that somehow my example will speak louder than words. I don't know of any way you can convince your family. Just eat what you want, and let them eat what they want. And be proud of your decision.
