That's great, any way you can do it is good. Some of us go vegan all at once, some of us do this over a course of years. I did it the long way, when I started in 1993 there was no vegsource and I didn't have a computer then even if there was a vegsource. I just wanted to eat healthier, so started cutting out one thing at a time. By 2000 I had been reading about factory farming and realized I wanted to be vegan, by that time the only animal products remaining were cheese, eggs, and occasionally fish. So it was easy. You say you feel you need dairy for health, as you journey along you will discover that in fact you do not need dairy; that is the dairy industry wanting you to believe that you need dairy. But one thing at a time, do lots of reading, get some good books, including some good cookbooks, realize it is a transition that can take time and a learning curve. I think you'll find, though, that just about any vegan you will talk to will tell you it is one of the, if not THE best decision they made in their life. I know it was for me, I love my way of eating, and feel right about this path. Good luck, come here often and ask lots of questions, we're all here for you.
