Dear Leila,
Since I became a veg., I had problems with my family as well. At first they mocked me and tried to "have the old me back", like you mentioned. Now they know. I showed them the DVD (from PETA) called Meet your Meat available in site meetyourmeat.com
Of course they understand and maybe I did have an influence on them because now they are eating much less meat! Good!
Just try to talk to your hubby and kids. And explain to them that this choice is yours. It is YOUR personal belief and preference, and it is better and healthier for you, animals and of course the Earth and environment. It is also the best model and non-violence and anti-bullying. Show them that YOU are the more sophisticated and the wiser and the healthier one! Every new move in History needed courage and determination and some daring avant-garde people, otherwise we would still have racism, sexism, slavery, religious bigotry and Inquisition and......
Good luck.
My email is caspianna@yahoo.com
Would love to talk more about this if you like.
p.s. Refer to my recent post on "Fish and Halal Slaughter"
Take care, Atoosa
