I completely understand where you are coming from. My husband did not outright make statements against it, but he felt restrained because we could no longer just cook out in the backyard. I have to go to certain restaurants or ask what is in everything before ordering. He just felt like it took away things we could share easily before. I disagreed with the previous comment that this is just about control. Your husband just probably feels as though constraints are being put on your relationship that were not there before. Also, I do not know if you are doing this or not, but if you are talking alot about what you saw on PETA's website and/or animal rights, he could be taking this as a personal attack. I suggest just making your dietary choices as much of a non-issue as possible and do not talk to your husband about changing his diet either.

Sudden changes in a relationship can be unnerving even if they seem very insignificant to others. Our eating habits are very ingrained in us, and your husband probably just feels a little intimidated by the sudden change. Clearly you feel passionate about this change, and that can be intimidating to him.
