I totally understand. I am veggie and my hubby is an omni. At first he took my not eating
meat as a personal attack. We had a few loud conversations trying to convince him
otherwise. Now when we cook I will make the sides/veggies like I want and if he wants meat
we usually cook it on the grill outside. I have to say he has taken to eating many more
meatless meals. I have tried receipes and will ask should I make this again? Some of them
are really awful tasting. Others even he likes. I make those again. I usually find a receipe
and buy specifically for then use leftover produce in other things until it all gone. We eat out
a lot too. I much perfer to cook. It took a couple of years for my dh to get past the meatless
thing but now he will even ask if a vegetarian meal can be served when we are invited out.
(special events etc.) I don't preach. But our youngest son (now 22) was always putting
pictures on the frig. (slaugherhouse ones) and making sure animal products were not in what
I was buying. (sometimes he would grocery shop with me too) So...I guess my hubby has
been in veggie training for some time. He has made great strides in acceptance and I am
sure yours will too. It's the initial "I'm not longer eating meat" that botherd my husband. He
once said that everytime I ate I made him feel wrong. It took awhile for him to get past that.
SO good luck on your journey Hope the path is smoother
