Hey everyone! I have recently decided to give veganism a try but am having some problems. I have been a lacto-ovo vegetarian for most of my life. This has never been tough for me because I don't really like meat and find it kind of gross, so temptation is not an issue. However with veganism, I am often tempted by products containing eggs and especially dairy. The obvious answer would be to replace these foods with vegan alternatives, but I live with family who buy most of the groceries and am not in a financial position to start buying my own stuff. I feel badly about this because I am very concerned with unhealthful amounts of hormones in these products and also with animal rights. I should also mention that I do not have a problem avoiding cheese. Similar to my thoughts on meat, I find the consumption of rennet to be more than a little disturbing. How can I cement a lifestyle WITHOUT egg-and-dairy-containing products in my mind? Thanks!
