There are many athletes who are vegetarian. My son is one, he plays hockey he is not gay or crazy, he has never eaten meat. I would suggest to you on getting a good support system. Sometimes I feel that we are the only family around that are vegetarians. Sometimes I don't even want people to know because of "the questions". My mom use to work in a whole foods store, she was talking to an elderly gentleman who said that people use to laugh at him for eating granola he told her that they aren't laughing anymore because they are all dead. Check out Dean Ornish's video on this site. He was one of the guys who made me feel comfortable about my choices twenty years ago! Good luck you have made the BEST CHOICE
