Jessica it's mostly like that commercial where the girl is standing on the dock looking at her friend drowning in the lake. She has the choice to either reach out and try to help her friend or to just walk away.Walking away would be alot easier but then wold take it's toll on her eventually assuming she has a concience. To reach out and help her out may be risky but at least she would have tried. The risk with this analagy is that the girl in the lake drowning is supposed to be unaware of the fact that she is in trouble.(In the commercial she is supposed to be doing drugs)Somebody unaware of the fact that they are in trouble in not likely to want the help in the first place. We could take that one step further and ssay tha tto offer them help or to presume that they need it is an insult to thier intelligence. You try insulting somebodies intelligence and they are going to see you as arrogant and a know all. After all they are fine.I would have this with a person in a boat that has barnacles collecting on the bottom. The person on the pier would be offerring them a barnacle scraper and they would be scoffing at them saying "I never asked you for a scraper I don't need one-this boat is just fine" If you have the knowledge then it is not right to share it?Sure but only when the person in the lake is ready to hear it.Sometimes that means thier boat has to be sinking.
