After being veg for many years, I could not even consider a serious relationship with a non-veg (and this probably explains why I am still single - Ha!). No meat in my fridge, ever! However, some couples are able to bridge this gap - my brother is married to a veg gal and they get along ok - he totally respects her dietary choices and never brings meat home (and better yet, a year ago he switched to become a veg). For me, the "thou shalt not kill" belief is so strong that I just could not be with someone who did not feel the same. On another note, as a nutritional therapist, you absolutely, positively, must read some of the works of Joel Fuhrman MD. There is a review of his latest book: "Eat to Live" here at VegSource. If you can get Jay to read this book, he will never again argue that meat is a healthy food for human consumption! But for anyone (such as yourself) interested in learning about a scientifically sound approach to nutritional healing, an even better book is Dr F's previous work: "Fasting and Eating for Health: A Medical Doctor's Program for Conquering Disease". (Dr Fuhrman has published 2 books and one video - all three are excellent!)
