I don't have a list bookmarked right now, but I think that the vegetarian resource group used to have a pretty good "ingredients to look out for" list (that's vrg.org--lots of good stuff there, too.) I don't really know what to say about the shellfish thing, as I never much liked that stuff and didn't have to deal with craving it. Maybe you could find a couple of recipes that use nori (seaweed)? You can get a nice, oddly fishy flavor that way. Also, you might consider doing some reading about the mercury and PCB levels in shellfish; that'll turn you off fast. Um, about the "surprise" non-vegan things--there are too many! I guess the ones that plague me are: Oh, man, I could go on like this all day! Rachel
