I also have seen trucks with live poultry, and even with pigs once, on the way to slaughter. It also broke my heart, so much so that I cried like a baby the rest of the way to work. There are a lot of people that don't care about the way farm animals are treated, but if a lot of them had to kill an animal or visited a slaughterhouse just once, there would be a lot more vegetarians. It's always good to know that there are compassionate people out there.
