One of the best methods I use to promote veganism is cooking really good food for all of my friends and family. I find when I get talking about veganism, I am so pssionate that I get really carried away, and probably intimidate people.
Then there is art terrorism. Not everyone has it in them, but planned artistic take-over of society fullfills a snickering misjevious drive in me that I have always had. Be it making convincing alterations to corporate advertizements, or bolting an enjoyable looking, inspiring piece of artwork to a public road sign, when everyone is asleep, you can make the world beautifull for everyone. The vegan lifestyle is unthinkable to those who's experiences have shut down their reception of the dynamic beauty in nature.
Sign a false name. Drop tape recordings into unaware strangers pocketbooks. Mail poetry to strangers. If big companies, who do not share interests with the survival of the multiverse, fill peoples minds with images, why can't you. Make your hands do the biddings of the universe. People like Ghandi and Jesus would be in solitary confinement in America in this time, so DO NOT GET CAUGHT.
Whether they realize your sabatage, or not, the first step is for them to enjoy life, because then the enjoyment of life (whether human or not) is taken into consideration. Enjoy YOUR life and others will get the idea.

For some minds, I suggest the book "Temporary Autonomous Zone" by Hakim Bey, which you can find for free online, because the auther did not choose to copyright.
