The most difficult part of becoming a vegetarian is not the change of diet but the people one has to deal with --food (and tradition) is amazingly powerfull stuff and people look at changes in diets to be a threat to them and the system --these changes bring up questions and forces others to think about unpleasant things in their surroundings and themselves. Even if the reasons for becoming a vegetarian are for "selfish" health reasons, you will be challenged for your individuality and the fact that you can think independenlty from the herd. As a vegetarian I have never preached against eating meat in any way and see the cultural values in the tradition --but still people offensively challenge something as "simple" as a diet plan ---So what is it worth ---the pride of being an individual.
