I went vegan a couple of weeks ago and almost immediately my decade-long depression was gone, along with the "generalized anxiety disorder." I also feel clear-minded and somehow more open to spirituality. My husband is vegetarian (occasional cheese and butter) is also seeing changes: less tired, more willing to get up and do something, also more clear-minded. We're 54 and 59, I'm 110 lbs overweight and the weight is beginning to come off. I'm also walking everyday now! I just did my first 2-mile walk yesterday (1 out, 1 back). It's phenomenal. And mind you, my husband is a nutritionist and it took him a long time to embrace this lifestyle and to jettison the academic propaganda. Rose
