I’m hoping someone here may be able to point me in the right direction. My 14 year old daughter would like to follow a vegitarian diet (in our non-vegitarian household). She is an athlete and dedicated to high school sports (I.e.: XC and Soccer). At times I believe she burns more calories than she’s able to take in. That said, I’m most interested that her diet remains sufficient to support her health and growth . I was hoping to find a medical professional who could both advise her on diet but also monitor her general health with that dietary change. Her primary physician says that defining a vegetarian diet is outside their strength.
Any suggestions on the best approach; Nutritionists, dieticians, MD’s, PhD’s, none of the above, would be greatly appreciated.
