I am a 56yr. old woman who exercises regularly (cardio, strengthening, flexibility). My diet is vegan w/lots of raw and cooked greens, fruit. Protein foods consist of varied nuts, some tofu (a couple times a week). Grains include brn. rice, occasional brn. rice pasta quinoa. Beans 2 to 3 times a week.
My question is should I be partaking of some kind of recovery drink/food after a wt. lifting routine? My calorie intake is about 1500 to 1800 cal. a day. I am stepping up my routine after a slow down cause of an arm injury.
