I am a very active 25 year old female runner/student. I usually clock in 3.5-5 miles every other- at times every single day. I get up super early in the a.m. I usually eat 1 cup of "Optimum Power" with the equivalent quantity of Silk soymilk. Then I embark on a long haul commute across town to my college campus. Between 12-2pm I typically grab something at Starbuck ie; an oatmeal raisin cookie, bagel, muffin, then its off to class or the library. I usually spend a ton of time studying and working and writing papers. By the time I get home- anywhere from 8-10 pm I usually make something like a veggie stirfry, pasta with pesto, usually with small amounts of cheese and tofu, I cook with olive oil in small quantitys, I use fresh produce like tomatoes and onions, I use wheat tortillas, veggie burgers and hummus on occasion. I drink a moderate amount of beer- 1 or 2 12 oz containers daily- my favorite is amber ale usually.
I weigh between 120-125 and look like I am about 110 lbs. I think I would look better if I filled out more, but it's hard to with my lifestyle habits. Sound odd? I know. But my whole family is pretty much veg or vegan, and I am kind of just stuck in my ways with my eating habits and moving around a whole heck of a lot.
I guess I just wanted some tips and pointers on easier meals to make at home and healthier (possibly less corporate) things to grab on the run. Some days I can take public transit to "whole foods" for lunch, I cant really afford to spend more than 5 dollars though and thats a treat that only happens in my life 2 times a week at most.
All feedback will be taken into consideration!
Thanks,
