How about running? It takes less time and burns up more energy (calories!) more efficiently. 30 minutes a day will keep your midsection flat and slender, think 6 pack! It might sound daunting at first, but you can work up to this by adding some jogging into your walking, little bits each time, like intervals. After while you can completely switch to running. I am a college student and I used to walk a lot to try and stay in shape. Somebody suggested I start running, which at the time made me feel so patronized. But I really wanted to be able to do it, now I run for at least 30 minutes a day, I must say that it has completely changed my life, I feel great, so clearheaded, think better, can handle my school work so much better, I dont get overwhelmed anymore. I realize I am 25 and you are 40 something, but some of the runners that I know and admire the most are in their 40s and 50s. One of these is a 45 year old woman, who used to smoke 1.5 packs of cigarettes a day, and now competes regularly in triathlons, winning 1st place in her age group this past weekend. People are capable of doing so much with their bodies, we have so much potential, so much more than many of us realize. Sit ups are also good. 20 mins of running a day and 50 sit ups will keep your midsection toned and buff. Best of luck!!!
