Two programs recently started in firehouses in different states, programs designed to get firefighters in shape -- using a low fat, 100% plant-strong diet.
The first is in Bethesda, Maryland, where Whole Foods Market has partnered with a fire station to help firefighters get healthy for life.
Using positive peer pressure, the firemen support each other to make life-saving changes.
Three other firefighting teams -- in Detroit, Michigan -- have been at it for some weeks now, and the benefits of plant-strong are surprising everyone involved, with the men's cholesterol and weight plummeting, and all reporting energy they haven't felt in decades.
Both teams were inspired by former Austin firefighter Rip Esselstyn's bestseller, The Engine 2 Diet.
