Bayer knowingly sold contaminated medicine.

This is the level of protection you can expect from the FDA, the Congress, and the White House.

Another story that came and went and never stuck.

Remember this when you're relying on drug companies and told to take vaccines...

Here is a bit more info:

The actual event went back to the early 1980's:

"An examination of internal Bayer company documents by The New York Times reveals that the company was engaged in unsavory, probably criminal marketing practices. The documents reveal that Bayer continued to sell contaminated blood plasma causing thousands of hemophiliac patients to be infected with AIDS. The company continued to sell the contaminated blood in Asia for over a year when it had already introduced a safer, heated blood plasma version in the US and Europe in February 1984."

It's likely they typical cost benefit trade-off; lots of money tied up in existing stock that they didn't just want to destroy - so they dumped it into markets that they didn't care to much about - where they figured that if anything went wrong there wouldn't be any blowback.

I just sawthe movie: "Food matters. You are what you eat". It's got some utterly wacky ideas about cancer "Gerson Miracle", but comes from a raw food, organic, whole food vegetarian (kind of) background otherwise.
But they start out reporting how many people die of heart disease and then cancer, and then get killed just taking drugs as prescribed. It's staggering, but so many people take [multiple] drugs now.

What's in our supplements? For those of us taking B12 supplements or manufactured products like soy milk that is fortified with chemicals from where? Might I suggest reading Pet Food Politics by Marion Nestle. She can be seen here:
