What a fantastic video! I admit, you got me the the headline "We Caught A Fish" - I was actually really troubled by it, until I saw the video.

Your compassion, quick thinkin' and thoughtfulness are admirable! It's great that your rescue was a family affair and your kids are learning real life lessons.

Love the blog, love the post... love the fish :)

Just lovely.

What a wonderful example of Reverence for Life in action.

Thanks so much - and well done!

Heartwarming - well done!

That fish is called a convict tang, because of the stripes that look like a prison jump suit. They are vegetarian and swim in large schools that move from rock to rock, grazing on the algae.

That is so cool you saved that fish.

Well you guys didn't fool me for even an instant.
But I was surprised with where the story went. And was a wonderful story it was. Thank you for sharing that story with us. :-)

Aww, I'm glad you actually saved a fish instead of caught one and killed it. I couldn't believe the email when I saw that you caught a fish! But thankfully I checked out the video. :P Yay!

Aloha. That's an awesome video. I work on a cruise ship in Hawai'i and I had similar incidents. One time, a friend was on the beach in Kona and a fish jump right out of the water into his hand. He was so surprised he caught the fish. He had on his snorkel fins, so he escorted the fish back out into deeper water.

It's good to know there are people who still care to save wildlife instead of destroying it.

Mahalo.
