...my family has been making for generations. We call it "Boiled Dinner." My grandmother told me that in very lean times, the pot only contained the veggies but at other times they would add meat. She would be surprised to know that we only eat it the 'lean' way! My family loves it and we have it at least once a month. When I made it for the first time for my DH about 20+ years ago, he was surprised because it was one of his favorite meals growing up and he thought that I had called his mother to get her recipe. LOL!
