The
Amarillo Heroes
lyrics by Kira Sampson
(Sung
to the tune of The Beverly Hillbillies)
Come and listen to my story about
a man named Howard,
He went on Oprah Winfrey's show, took on some Texas cowards,
He told the folks about that dreadful mad cow disease,
And soon he had those Texas ranchers beggin' on their knees,
"Howard," they said,
"Please don't tell.
Folks won't buy."
But Howard bravely told the story that he knew was true,
And he convinced them all that beef just isn't good for you,
That made those Texas folks so mad they grabbed their guns and
drew,
And sent subpoenas wingin' toward our heroes, brave and true.
Oprah, that is,
Howard, too.
Big-time suit.
So now they're all in Texas waitin' for the trial to end,
And folks across the USA cheer on our faithful friends,
And we all hope the public will support its right to know
The truth that Howard told us on the Oprah Winfrey show.
Mad cow disease,
Bad stuff,
Don't eat beef.
